Michelle is inspired by the variety her role offers at BAE Systems. With exciting projects and supportive mentoring, she’s proud to be part of a growing community of women in engineering, shaping the future of defence.
When I’m driving to work, I’m excited about what each day brings as there’s so much variety in the work I do every day. At BAE Systems, I’ve got infinite possibilities. I’ve got demanding projects that I’m working on with great mentoring opportunities. I’m able to work a nine day fortnight, lease a brand new electric vehicle and also work from home to support my work life balance.
As a Software Engineer, I don’t only do software development, I also get to work on design of user interfaces, which is a good creative aspect. My job in one word would be complex, but I think it's a good thing to feel inspired every day. We get to work on every element of the project, which isn’t always the case in defence. But what’s exciting about working at BAE Systems is we have built the whole system right here in Australia.
This is my BAE Systems story, find yours by joining today.
What inspired me to apply for a role at BAE Systems was I saw defence as a growing industry. There’s been a lot more females coming through in engineering and it’s been really great to see people like me working in senior positions.
