What we do in Australia

BAE Systems Australia provides aircraft design, development, production, training, support and maintenance for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).

We have a long and proud heritage in the development, manufacture, upgrade and support of world-leading combat and fast jet trainer aircraft. We operate throughout Australia and across the globe to support the Australian Defence Force (ADF) wherever, whenever and whatever its challenges may be.

We provide support to the RAAF across the entire life cycle of the air sector – from design, development and production, through to the provision of aircraft, training, support and maintenance.

We provide and support an outstanding, state-of-the-art fast jet training capability for the Royal Australian Air Force through our Hawk Lead-in Fighter. We also train every ADF aircraft technician through our Aviation Technical Training program in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.

We sustain the RAAF's fleet of F-35 fighter jets and support aircraft maintenance across the Asia-Pacific region. This enables us to play a key role in the largest and most advanced military aircraft program in the world. Led by the US Department of Defence and Lockheed Martin, the collaborative F-35 program delivers a stealthy, multi-role attack aircraft capable of operating from both land and sea.
