From small arms to mortar, artillery and naval ammunitions, we are proud to equip the British Armed Forces and international customers with a range of products and services. Our munitions have been proven in every possible environment, over many decades, with our specialist engineers working in partnership with our customers, to continually make performance improvements. In 2020 we entered into a new 15-year contract with the UK Ministry of Defence, representing our enduring partnership with the UK armed forces, particularly the British Army.
Next generation explosive mixing
Our next generation explosive mixing is a unique method of mixing explosives. This delivers an energy-dense formulation, providing enhanced performance, when used with our ammunition. Resonant acoustic mixing uses vibration rather than traditional mixing blades. To coin a well-known phrase, the formulation is ‘shaken, not stirred’.
Small arms ammunition
We can produce over one million rounds per day of NATO-qualified, small arms ammunition in 5.56mm and 7.62mm calibres including ball, tracer and blank rounds. As the British Army’s partner of choice since the 1940s, we're trusted to provide high volumes of precision rounds that soldiers know they can rely on. Our engineers have developed new, NATO-qualified 5.56mm and 7.62mm rounds which can increase effective range and armour penetration. We're also designing new, light weight case ammunition that will reduce the weight burden and improve performance.
Medium calibre ammunition
We are the principal supplier of medium calibre ammunition to the UK Ministry of Defence and other NATO members. All of our medium calibre ammunition has been type classified by the British Forces. As the British Army’s partner of choice since the 1940s, we're trusted to provide high volumes of precision rounds that soldiers know they can rely on. Our medium calibre ammunition has been proven in every possible environment, with our specialist engineers working in partnership with our customers, to continually make performance improvements.
Mortar ammunition
Our 81mm mortar ammunition delivers a battle-proven area effect. It can be used in a range of mortar weapon systems and delivers consistently high performance, underpinned by a Mk4 charge system in all products. We're using our expertise in the mortar arena to design and develop a full suite of 120mm mortar products. This will include high explosive (HE), practice, smoke and illuminating rounds.
Tank and artillery ammunition
Our artillery and associated ammunition has been the British Army’s product of choice for over 50 years, delivering superior quality, reliable performance and advanced capability for soldiers.
Naval ammunition
We have provided the UK Royal Navy and the Armada De Chile with 4.5 inch Naval rounds for over 30 years, delivering reliable performance and advanced capability, whilst remaining cost-competitive.
Testing & evaluation
Our ranges provide some of the widest testing of munitions anywhere in Europe. Our capability covers; inspection, endoscopy, radiography dynamic testing such as vibration, shock and drop and climatic tests, covering a wide range of temperature and humidity.
