Working with the armed forces community and their families lies at the heart of our UK social impact programme. In addition to supporting military charities and the cadets organisations, we strive to be the preferred home for service leavers and are committed to helping our reservist employees fulfil their duties.

The Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. We were one of the first signatories in 2013 and we hold a Gold Award in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme. The covenant inspires us to go further in our support for the armed forces family.

Our support group for employees

ForcesNet is our employee-led group for more than 2,400 ex-forces personnel, 160 reservists, around 100 Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) and their colleague allies. It offers camaraderie, mentoring and coaching for armed forces leavers as they transition into new careers at BAE Systems. Many veterans describe joining BAE Systems as feeling like they're "coming home".
