We believe that an open and respectful workplace culture in which our employees can thrive is essential to high performance and purposeful work. Building an inclusive culture requires commitment and effort. That’s why we’re focusing on key priorities that reflect the needs of our people and our communities:
- creating a respectful and inclusive culture for everyone;
- attracting and retaining employees from all backgrounds; and
- collaborating with partners to enhance our impact.
Creating a respectful and inclusive culture for everyone
We want our employees to feel safe, respected and valued at work. We work with our leadership and employees on a range of initiatives to improve inclusion in our workplaces focusing on ethnicity, gender, disability, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ and veteran status. Our aim is to create an environment where everyone feels empowered to contribute their best, regardless of background or life experience.
We encourage employee-led groups, initiatives and networks and value the role they play in building inclusive workplaces. We also recognise that we have a multi-generational workforce and are working to understand what each of these generations needs to be able to work at BAE Systems.
Attracting and retaining employees from all backgrounds
Our people are critical to our ability to meet our customers’ challenges. We want to attract and retain the very best diverse talent. We have invested in our recruitment practices to ensure that our roles appeal to people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Collaborating with partners to enhance our impact
Our work on inclusion is strengthened through our partnerships with leading external organisations. These include the Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion (ENEI), as our benchmarking and advisory partner. We’re proud to be signatories to several UK-based charters that hold us accountable to high standards.
We’re building an inclusive future
Be part of it.
