The social enterprise company, InnovateHer, have a mission to get girls ready for the tech industry, and through the launch of their latest free online course, aim to train young people on cyber security.
BAE Systems have supported the programme since 2021 and are thrilled that the extension of our partnership has enabled the launch of a new 'Discover Cyber Security' course. The course aims to teach young people how to protect their online identity and avoid becoming a victim of cyber-crime.
This unique learning programme has been developed alongside Security Consultant, Honey Williams and Cyber Security Specialist, Claire Vandenbroecke from BAE Systems Digital Intelligence and is suitable for all students from 13-17 years.
The programme itself takes students on an educational journey, beginning as cybersecurity ‘apprentices’, where they receive information from their virtual mentors throughout the course. The curriculum explores different roles that exist within the cyber security field and teaches students the critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills needed to pursue a career in the industry.
