Our people are delivering innovative projects and critical capabilities for the Australian Defence Force, which in turn is keeping us all safe.

The Hunter Class Frigate Program is transforming Australia’s shipbuilding industry by supporting the building of a world-class, continuous naval shipbuilding capability for our nation.

Riley is just beginning his career on Australia's largest surface ship building program in Defence history, The Hunter Class Frigate Program at BAE Systems Australia.

The Hunter program will provide Riley an employment opportunity that will go for most of his working life.

From working in a training space to completing his welding qualifications and moving into the workshops, Riley is enjoying working in Defence and learning from some of the most highly-skilled tradespeople in Australia.

"Working for a Defence company is quite a stable industry. The training's always really good, and a lot of the support systems and networks around it are also really good. I really look forward to being able to see the first ship out on the water."
