BAE Systems has been a leader in IFF systems technology worldwide for more than seven decades, having delivered over 14,000 transponders, 1,500 interrogators, and 6,000 combined interrogator transponder systems for use across a multitude of platforms.
Available for all service branches, our IFF systems can enhance the safety and operational tracking of legacy, new, and emerging platforms including unmanned aerial vehicles, ships, fixed-wing aircraft, and helicopters. They can also replace outdated systems with small form factor units that support SWAP-C objectives and accommodate future upgrades.

Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Transponders
Our IFF military Mark XIIA transponders allow aircraft and ships to be identified as friendly forces by responding to interrogations from ground-based or airborne IFF systems. The transponders installed on aircraft and naval vessels establish the identity of friendly forces. Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Interrogators
BAE Systems’ IFF interrogators offer modular architectures for customized configurations and optimized performance for surveillance, air traffic control, and range instrumentation. The AN/APX-41 (C) is the standard U.S. Navy interrogator, with more than 1,000 units delivered. Features include:
