What processing activities do you undertake that include my information?
 
We undertake appropriate vetting activities every time you attend one of our sites as a visitor if, during your visit, you need access to Export Controlled materials and/or access to BAE Systems network/infrastructure,
 
This includes, where relevant and appropriate:
 
  • undertaking denied party screening;
  • reviewing the Australian and UN Sanctions Lists;
  • reviewing the United Nations Security Council Consolidated List; and
  • confirming your eligibility against our export control licence requirements.

What is the reason for these processing activities?
 

The Company needs to make decisions relating to the future of its business in order to preserve its business operations or grow its business. These interests include the interests of the workforce as a whole and the BAE Systems customer base.

We undertake an assessment of our visitors’ eligibility to access classified information and/or export controlled information and technologies in relation to defence-related projects to the extent required in order to protect our business, and to ensure compliance against the governing regulations. 

We are also required to strictly comply with export controls laws, so that our business can continue to market defence goods and services.

To the extent that you did not get this information from me, how did you collect it?
 
The results of these vetting activities will come from internal sources such as your employer.
 
In addition, we may also gather some information from publicly available sources. 
Who do you share this information with?
 
This information may be shared internally for the purposes described above and may, where necessary, be shared with our suppliers as needed to complete the checks (including, without limitation, Experian and Dow Jones) and as otherwise set out in this Notice.  
 
In addition, some of your information may, in some circumstances, be shared with external parties such as regulatory bodies, either in Australia or within other countries related to our business (such as the United Kingdom and United States) or our suppliers as needed. 
 
We may also share some information with our customers, where needed, and as otherwise set out in this Notice.
