Overview
ForeSee can support operational planning and the execution of tactical missions. The key capabilities are ForeSee are:
- Within the context of deliberate planning, will be able to shape the operational plan prior to deployment and the development of tactical plans when on mission.
- Allows a commander to visualise the meteorological effects on the ownship and task group’s RF sensor systems and the ability of the RF sensor systems to achieve their objectives and accomplish the mission.
- Is able to recommend optimal settings for the RF sensor systems to achieve their mission objectives under different meteorological conditions.
- Allows a commander to assess when ownship and task group’s RF sensor systems have an advantage over an adversary at a specific time and place.
- Allows a commander to establish when an adversary may have an advantage over ownship and so allow the commander to take action to lessen or remove the advantage.
- Is able to recommend ship positions within a task group to minimise emissions under Emissions Control (EMCON) conditions, whilst maximising RF coverage.
Design summary
ForeSee shares many processing capabilities in common the SADM (Ship Air Defence Model) and ForeSee employs radar and ESM models from SADM.
ForeSee can import numerical weather predictions, individual meteorological profiles, local surface data and create modified refractivity profiles that blend the upper air profiles with the evaporation duct.
