Our long standing relationships with a number of armed forces charities is another way that we demonstrate our support for the military family, in and beyond their service. We work closely with charities to identify specific projects that we can help to fund and make a lasting impact.

Fundraising

Across our sites every year we come together and show our support for those brave men and women who protect our nation and keep us safe. Across the UK, our colleagues mark Armed Forces Week by fundraising, payroll giving and organising events and initiatives for Armed Forces charities.

Our 2019 annual fundraiser event was the Heroes Challenge, and saw a team of 40 intrepid cyclists including BAE Systems, Royal Navy and RMRNC colleagues, cycle a 330 mile, four-day epic ride from London to Paris.  They raised over £70,000 for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Landings.

In 2013, we were the first Defence Company to sign the UK Armed Forces Covenant. BAE Systems was also one of the first six winners of the MoD Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award, which recognises an organisation’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant. We are proud to have held this status continuously since the Scheme began in July 2014.
