Head-Up Displays: enhancing situational awareness
Head-Up Displays: enhancing situational awareness

In today’s multi-domain battlespace warfighters need to have superior situational awareness to be able to make real-time decisions.

BAE Systems’ displays project data directly into the pilot’s line of sight so their eyes can remain forward, with their hands on the controls, allowing them to see, decide, and act faster than their adversaries.

A head-up display, or HUD, is a see-through display that sits directly in a pilot's line of sight, which greatly increases their situational awareness. It projects real-time, flight and mission critical information overlaid onto the outside world, allowing pilots to see and digest vital data faster and easier.

A helmet-mounted display, or HMD system, projects critical real-time information directly onto the pilot’s visor, over their view of the outside world, providing superior situational awareness.

Why choose BAE Systems?

BAE Systems has innovated and invested in cockpit displays for more than 60 years.

Our Striker® II helmet-mounted display (HMD) system builds on decades of combat-proven performance and experience from its original Striker HMD, which is used on Eurofighter Typhoon and Saab JAS 39 Gripen aircraft.

We currently have more than 1,000 HMDs in operation with 10 nations.
