Our presence in Western Australia focuses on the manufacture and sustainment of maritime assets, aircraft and technology.
Henderson is a strategic defence location for the Commonwealth. It is home to the sustainment activities and the capability upgrades of the Royal Australian Navy’s Anzac class frigates. Our people at this site include tradespeople, engineers and experienced and early career professionals across various business functions.
The Henderson team is also using their decades of experience in building aluminium masts for the Anzac class, to build masts for the Hunter class frigates. Once completed, the masts will be sent to Adelaide where we are building these ships.
Also at Henderson, our people support the Warship Asset Management Agreement (WAMA), a strategic alliance between BAE Systems Australia, Saab Australia, Babcock Australasia and the Commonwealth of Australia.
Pearce is Western Australia’s only RAAF base and the location of our Hawk LIF sustainment and training activities. There are around 75 people based at this site, and we’re regularly recruiting aircraft technicians and engineers and have an annual intake of apprentices.
Further inland, our people support the Jindalee Operational Radar Network operations and maintenance at its remote site on the edge of the Great Victoria Desert.
Defence jobs in Western Australia
What our people love about working in Western Australia...
- Henderson is an exciting shipyard that’s often decorated by docked naval ships. Our people also love the waterfront offices, the short drive south of Perth, and the free parking. Henderson also welcomes home-based employees to spend time on site.
- RAAF Base Pearce is home to various local and international aircraft. It’s located a short drive north-east of Perth, and it’s close to multiple wine regions and a relaxed, rural lifestyle.
