He worked as a security guard before enlisting in the Australian Army Reserves. His time in the Army helped him realise that a career in cyber security was what he really wanted.

After completing his service, Chris did what he thought were all the ‘right’ things: he attended industry events, made contacts in the field, and studied to professionally develop. Despite that, getting his foot in the door was proving to be more difficult than he’d anticipated.

An Army colleague encouraged Chris to sign up to WithYouWithMe and undertake the free training. Chris enrolled in the Linux Pipeline course and now works at BAE Systems as a Linux Systems Administrator which is a strong fit for his interests.
