Seeing technology in use was the inspiration for a recent visit to the Osborne Naval Shipyard visit by Elizabeth Downs Primary and Playford International College students.

The students are participating in a program that our company is sponsoring called ‘cnVRg’ where they will design and develop their own VR gaming experience.

This program called “CnVRg” focusses on inspiring and engaging students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning.

CnVRg aims to challenge a variety of problem-solving skills including non-verbal communication, pattern recognition, logical reasoning and innovation, while relying on a strong element of teamwork.

During the visit, students headed out to the shipyard to see how and where our Hunter Frigates are made, along with the various technologies used in a modern day shipyard.

Kate from Northern Sound System had this to say about the tour..

“The students really loved the tour. Their inquisitive nature meant no questions were off limits and it opened their eyes to the range of career opportunities, as well as the complex process of ship building.”
