Since 1992, the company has provided operational support for the OTHR run by RAAF’s No 1 Radar Surveillance Unit (1RSU).

BAE Systems Australia Chief Executive David Allott said: “Two decades of partnership between our company and the Air Force is truly something worth celebrating.

“The success of this project has been a result of a strong partnership between BAE Systems, 1RSU, the Capability Research and Development team at DSTO and the Defence Materiel Organisation.

“We are proud to have been involved in a project that has provided such significant benefits to Australia’s national security.”

Currently more than 170 BAE Systems employees (based in Adelaide and the Northern Territory) provide maintenance, logistics, engineering development, verification and validation, operator training and support to the network.
