Ben succeeded Gabby Costigan, who moved to a new position with BAE Systems as Group Managing Director, Business Development, based in the UK.
Ben Hudson was previously BAE Systems’ Chief Technology Officer based in the UK.
Ben has extensive international defence-sector experience and previously held leadership roles with Rheinmetall and General Dynamics. He is a dual Australian-British citizen and served as an officer in the Australian Army.
Ben said he was delighted to return to Australia.
“It is a privilege to lead a company that has such a long and successful history of delivering world leading technologies that support Australia’s defence and security,” he said.
“I look forward to leading the continued growth and development of nation’s most diverse defence company.”
Gabby Costigan said she was proud to have led BAE Systems’ Australian business for the past four years.
“The breadth of the work undertaken by the business and the capabilities and commitment of employees is really quite exceptional.
“It’s been hugely rewarding to see the business grow as major programs such as Jindalee Operational Radar Network upgrade, the Hunter Class Frigate Program and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter sustainment have ramped up.”
Under Gabby’s leadership BAE Systems Australia has grown successfully over the past four years. In her new UK based role, Gabby will be responsible for leading customer and government relations for the Group and developing international business opportunities.
