Your way, your work, your life
Our brand new state of the art Central Yard Facility cements Barrow’s place as the largest shipyard in the UK.
Barrow-in-Furness is the sea gate to the Lake District. Looking up from the beaches surrounding the peninsula, the Lakeland fells rise up behind the town. A twenty minute drive will take you into the heart of some of the country’s most beautiful scenery with England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, and Windermere both nearby.

Our office

The Cumbrian town has a rich naval history, with ship building cranes dominating the skyline since Victorian industry moved from steel to ship production. It’s now the base for building the UK’s next generation of nuclear submarines, and new logistics and training facilities are now up and running as part of site redevelopment.

Whether your role is within our offices or our production facilities, the Barrow site is a work environment we are proud of, with Safety always as our core value.

Alongside the outdoor pursuits and the glorious countryside, there’s great shopping in the centre and retail parks nearby. The town is busy with pubs and has a thriving theatre and multiplex cinema. Barrovians are a sociable bunch, and BAE Systems is very much part of the community.

Barrow-in-Furness is 45 minutes to the M6, with has regular trains to Preston and Manchester. London is a one change journey away.
