What is Scorpio-XR?
Over several years, BAE Systems has invested in the innovation, development and testing of an advanced long-range precision fires munition that provides range and lethality overmatch to U.S. Army brigade and division artillery units.
Scorpio-XR is the latest precision guided munition in the Hypervelocity Projectile (HVP) family of munitions. Designed to defeat fixed and moving targets in contested environments, Scorpio-XR brings a highly lethal, short time-of-flight, maneuverable projectile to the warfighter.
Scorpio-XR Updates
To advance the capabilities of precision guided munitions, BAE Systems’ Scorpio-XR incorporates critical, gun-hardened sub-systems proven through a combination of over 100 HVP and Scorpio-XR test fires from various Army 155mm cannons.
Looking Ahead
On contract with the U.S. Army, BAE Systems is working to develop and test Scorpio-XR in support of U.S. Army cannon transformation initiatives by innovating at round.
