STEM Outreach

Community Engagement
We are committed to helping students explore their passion for science, technology, engineering, and math. Their aspirations for the future will one day contribute to our dedicated support of aerospace, defense, and security.
Women in Technology (WiT) gives female high school students with an aptitude in math and science a practical, hands-on opportunity to explore careers in various technical disciplines.

High School Outreach Programs

We know that students’ passion for science and technology starts early, which is why our company has several programs dedicated to providing high school students with hands-on experience in STEM through intensive programs hosted by BAE Systems.

Our Fostering Opportunities and Careers Utilizing STEM (FOCUS) program invites students to participate in an 11-week curriculum where they receive instruction and mentoring by employees while teaming up with other students to use what they learn to build a working robot.

Our Women in Technology (WIT) program hosts young women in high school for 9 to 16 weeks while they learn about emerging technologies through hands-on activities. In the past ten years, nearly 1,000 students have graduated from these programs.
