What is cyber resilience?

Cyber Resilience is a multi-level, adaptive defense and response cyber security strategy designed to ensure that the communications, IT systems, and smart devices of a business, government, military, or other organization can defend against cyber attacks or security breaches across all platforms, continue to operate effectively, respond to threats as needed, and continually update its protocols autonomously.

The core purpose of cyber resilience is to ensure that essential operations are shielded from potential cyber threats and that, if a breach does occur, the operation cannot be destabilized, nor can its platforms be maligned or misappropriated. Cyber resilience is far superior to traditional "defense in depth" cyber defense due to its ability to continually learn about millions of new cyber threats and adapt to defeat those threats enterprise-wide using artificial intelligence and machine learning. With the right cyber resilience systems in place – including as much emphasis on operational practices as on advanced technologies – an organization can resist, respond to, and learn from cyber attacks while continuing operations and fortifying its ability to endure future assaults.
