Women In Aerospace Launches into 2014 with BAE Systems Executive Onboard

Joanna Cangianelli, vice president of business development for BAE Systems’ Intelligence & Security sector, has been elected to the 2014 board of directors for Women in Aerospace (WIA).

WIA is dedicated to expanding women’s opportunities for leadership and increasing their visibility in the aerospace community. The group also organizes events around Washington, D.C., online and at aerospace conferences and industry meetings around the world.

“Organizations like WIA are helping more women realize exciting career paths and opportunities available in aerospace-related industries,” said Cangianelli. “The WIA is also a launch point for innovation, and I’m excited to work with its members to tackle industry challenges and explore creative solutions that will drive our industry into the future.”

WIA members share an interest in a broad spectrum of aerospace issues including aviation, human space flight, remote sensing, robotic space exploration, satellite communications and the policy issues surrounding these fields.
