U.S. Representative Richard Hanna (R—NY)visited our Endicott, N.Y., site to meet employees and receive briefings on our Commercial Aircraft Solutions, HybriDrive® Solutions, and Communications and Control Solutions businesses.
“It was a privilege to visit BAE Systems and meet with its talented workforce. The Southern Tier is fortunate to have an economic anchor like BAE Systems in the region, and I am pleased to see the great partnerships that have been established with both Binghamton University and SUNY Broome to further advance education in the STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering and math,” said Rep. Hanna. “I will continue to support BAE Systems’ mission and look forward to it being a strong presence in Broome County for many years to come.”
The congressman also took a ride aboard one of our hybrid test buses, and toured the HybriDrive Solutions manufacturing floor to learn more about how BAE Systems’ hybrid technology for transit buses has saved more than 38 million gallons of diesel fuel and prevented more than 520,000 tons of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere.
“Working in collaboration with state and federal government is key on several levels for BAE Systems, and we’re thankful for the relationship we have with our local representatives, such as Richard Hanna,” said Frank McBride, HybriDrive Solutions Sales and Marketing director. “The opportunity to introduce him to our employees and our new facility in Endicott is important as we continue to seek support in Congress for cleaner, more efficient public transit.”
Rep. Hanna is a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit.
