The licensing agreement will provide access to BAE Systems’ technical information and support that is needed to manufacture an initial gun for testing. The strategic partnership will support the development of a variant of the L119 Light Gun for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The L119 is a BAE Systems designed 105mm Light Gun, a highly capable and proven towed artillery system, valued for its mobility and reliability.
This agreement builds on BAE Systems’ long-term support to Ukraine and its work with Ukrainian industry to strengthen the country’s sovereign defence capability. It reflects a shared focus on developing resilient industrial capacity that can support the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the long term.

The agreement follows BAE Systems’ continued investment in artillery capability in the UK, including work to restore domestic production capacity and support the delivery of British designed 105mm and 155mm artillery barrels for Ukraine from Sheffield.
