BAE Systems, Inc. releases its first-ever impact report on diversity, equity, and inclusion
A Decade of Progress reports on the progress BAE Systems, Inc. has made toward achieving its long-term goals of increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion and reaffirms its commitments for the next decade and beyond
Today, BAE Systems, Inc. released A Decade of Progress, the company’s first report of its kind to detail progress made over the past ten years toward increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace.

The report offers a snapshot of the current U.S. employee makeup and provides an overview of company-wide DEI strategy, goals, and aspirations — an important step in increasing transparency and accountability, and creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.

“The greatest strength we have is our people and the unique experiences, skills, and talents they bring to our mission,” said Tom Arseneault, president and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc. “I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, but there is more work to do. We will stay focused on cultivating a culture where every person is valued, accepted, and empowered to succeed.”

The report also shares information about the company’s actions and achievements, development opportunities and tools, community investments and partnerships, and employee resource groups.

“Charting the path forward requires a balance of acknowledging our strengths and where we are falling short, and this report is a critical step on that journey,” said Ruchi Jalla, vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer for BAE Systems, Inc. “We’re encouraged by the strides we’ve made and the efforts of our senior leaders and employees to engage and learn. Together, we’re setting in motion the meaningful changes that will build an even stronger workforce in the decade to come.”

A Decade of Progress highlights the strides made to increase DEI throughout the company, including:

  • People of color comprise 25.6% of the overall U.S. workforce.
  • Women comprise 50% of the Inc. Executive Team and approximately 25% of the overall U.S. workforce.

The company plans to continue to publish this type of report, detailing the progress it has made.

BAE Systems, Inc. employs a diverse workforce of approximately 35,200 employees in 30 states in the U.S., along with sites in the United Kingdom and Sweden.
