The Eurofighter Typhoon is one of the most successful UK defence programmes, bringing export sales worth double the £12 billion invested by the UK Government, with the potential for more to come.

Powering the UK economy

Typhoon has sustained and maintained a vibrant defence and aerospace through-life design, development and support capability, securing a crucial sovereign skills and capability for the UK. Continued investment in the Typhoon programme and further export sales supports innovation and technology development and a network of thousands of jobs across the UK.

Beyond its direct contribution to the UK defence sector, it supports a highly-skilled supply chain which spans every region of the country, enabling businesses to invest with confidence and nurture the next generation of engineers, technicians and specialists.

This enduring ecosystem of expertise and innovation ensures the UK retains the knowledge, skills and industrial capacity needed to deliver national security and compete successfully in global markets.

Across the UK, the Typhoon programme is helping to sustain thousands of jobs in supply chain businesses, providing them the long-term stability to invest in their people and equipment to unlock future opportunities for growth.

The Typhoon programme makes a huge economic contribution and due to export sales, the programme has already returned more than double the UK Government’s initial investment. Continued investment in Typhoon is crucial for European defence resilience and to ensure we protect the vital ecosystem that underpins our national industrial base.
