Proud to support the Rally for Heroes

Thanks to support from our Military Air & Information (MAI) part of the business, a team from Yeovil’s Royal British Legion (RBL) will be on the starting line for this years ‘Rally for Heroes’, which is raising funds for both the RBL and Help For Heroes.

Murray Walker OBE will be dropping the start flag on the 18 August for the start of the Rally where 50 cars will stream across the starting line at the Top Gear Track with the aim of, seven days later, finishing at the challenging Nurburgring Circuit in Germany.

The route represents a drive of 5 miles for each service person that has made the ultimate sacrifice serving their country in Afghanistan during the current conflict.

MAI has supported the Yeovil RBL car that will be driven by Branch Chairman, Peter Brock who is also a support worker for a young person’s housing project and Paul McKenzie who is the Yeovil RBL Welfare Officer and a caseworker for local branch of SSAFA.

Commenting on BAE Systems support Peter said:

“We would like to say a big thank you to BAE Systems for supporting us and we are excited and honoured to be asked to be part the Rally for Heroes.

The first rally took place in 2010 and raised £32,000 and the hope is to raise £100,000 to be split between Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes.”
