This marks the first apprenticeship programme on the Telford site since 1986. The Telford site which is part of the Combat Vehicles (UK) business is planning to recruit four apprentices to start September 2013 in both engineering technical support and mechanical manufacturing engineering.
Our Telford which will be the primary site for the Combat Vehicles (UK) business from 2014, is responsible for supporting in-service military vehicles such as Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank, Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicle and the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) family of vehicles.
Combat Vehicles (UK) Managing Director, David Bond said, “This is a great opportunity for school leavers in the Telford area. We hope that the combination of on the job training and academic study whilst working on some great military vehicles will result in a high number of applications”
The apprenticeship programme will offer a well-structured training scheme, managed by TDR who specialise in Engineering and Manufacturing training. The apprenticeship programme is the ideal route for school leavers looking for on-the job training with the opportunity to study a Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma.
To help school leavers explore apprenticeships options, our Telford site will be participating at the Real Apprentice Showcase event on 19 March 2013 held at The Whitehouse Hotel, Wellington.
