Peter Wilkinson has become the first ever winner of a national Human Factors award as part of the Excellence Awards organised by the UK Council for Electronic Business in collaboration with the UK MOD.

Peter, a technologist advisor at Warton, was awarded the H Rowbotham Memorial Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Human Factors Integration, in recognition of an outstanding career promoting and applying Human Factors Integration within the Company and in the wider defence community.

Human Factors Integration is basically about systematically taking account of the people element in systems engineering, putting the human at the heart of what we do.

On winning the award, Peter said: "As a colleague and friend of H Rowbotham I’m really pleased and honoured to be the first recipient of the award. Its recognition in a business-oriented community signifies that Human Factors Integration has come of age. At the end of a long career, I can now retire as a happy man!"
