What is a head-up display?
A head-up display, or HUD, is a see-through display that sits directly in a pilot's line of sight, which greatly increases their situational awareness. The HUD system presents real-time, flight-critical information overlaid onto a view of the outside world, allowing pilots to see and digest vital data faster and easier.
Many aircraft in service around the world are fitted with traditional analogue HUDs which use obsolete, high maintenance cathode-ray tube (CRT) displays.
BAE Systems’ DLE HUD is a modular upgrade which replaces this out-of-date technology with a digital display that significantly increases the HUD’s reliability.
It easily integrates into existing aircraft systems seamlessly and quickly, reducing costs and downtime.
