The latest in our Power of Perspective series. Nikolai Drouzine from Eurostep, a BAE Systems Digital Intelligence company, explains how ShareAspace is being used by the defence sector and beyond to unlock data clarity in complexity.
Nikolai's perspective

In the defence sector, precision isn’t optional, it’s fundamental. When you’re working with highly complex assets like warships, submarines, vehicles, aircraft or turbine systems, getting asset data right can be mission critical. Without it, the consequences aren’t just administrative, they can be tremendously costly. Impacting delivery timelines, support performance and ultimately operational availability and long-term cost.

That’s why I’m so passionate about the role ShareAspace from Eurostep plays in transforming how organisations manage and trust their data from design to support.

At its core, ShareAspace is designed to solve a challenge that every manufacturer and operator of complex systems recognises: how to confidently request, review and validate the vast volumes of data coming in from across a complex supply chain and support ecosystems.

When hundreds, or even thousands, of suppliers are involved, ensuring consistency, accuracy and traceability becomes incredibly difficult. What makes ShareAspace so powerful is its ability to bring order to that complexity. It enables organisations to connect in a structured, governed way with multiple suppliers, creating an environment where the right data is shared with the right people at the right time. Crucially, it gives you full control and traceability, so you can manage exactly who sees what and when, whilst protecting sensitive information and safeguarding intellectual property.

But for me, the real value goes beyond data management. It’s about creating assured information that people can use to unlock the full value of their assets.

Too often, organisations are sitting on vast amounts of data but struggling to turn it into something meaningful. ShareAspace changes that. By ensuring data is consistent, validated and accessible, it creates a foundation for clarity. And with clarity comes confidence – the ability to make better, more informed decisions.

That’s what we mean at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence when we talk about delivering the Power of Perspective. It’s not just about having data, it’s about knowing where it came from, whether it has been validated, who is allowed to use it, and how it relates to the asset configuration through life.

In an industry where complexity is the norm, having that perspective is invaluable. It allows teams to spot gaps earlier, reduce rework, collaborate more effectively, and ultimately deliver better outcomes across the lifecycle of an asset.

For me, working with ShareAspace is about helping customers realise that potential. It’s about turning data into a strategic advantage – one that not only reduces risk, but actively drives better decision-making and long-term value.

Because when you can truly see what your data is telling you, everything becomes clearer.
