BAE Systems Ship Repair recognized 119 suppliers for achieving outstanding results in supporting repair and modernization projects aboard more than 30 naval and commercial vessels last year. The ‘Partner2Win’ program is a collaborative partnership between the company’s three shipyards — in Jacksonville, Fla.; Norfolk, Va.; and San Diego, Calif. — and a vast network of naval and commercial ship repair suppliers. The ceremony was held in Norfolk.

“All of our suppliers have a strong sense of ownership and dedication to performing vital support of U.S. Navy vessels and other maritime customers,” said Paul Smith, vice president and general manager of BAE Systems Ship Repair. “I extend my sincere thanks to all of our supply chain partners, and I want to recognize those who have earned our ‘Partner2Win’ Supplier Awards.”

Seventy-five gold, 33 silver, and 11 bronze awards were presented during the ceremony.

This year’s top ship repair supplier awards went to International Marine & Industrial Applicators, LLC, of Spanish Fort, Ala.; Askew Industrial Corp., of Santa Fe Springs, Calif.; and East Coast Repair & Fabrication, LLC of Chesapeake, Va.

International Marine & Industrial Applicators, LLC, a marine preservation and structural support company, is the top 2021 subcontractor of the year. In addition to being honored for its support of the entire ship repair business, IMIA was also named subcontractor of the year for the Norfolk and San Diego shipyards.

A long-time vendor to the business, Askew manages inventory services at the company’s Jacksonville and San Diego shipyards, and on-site assistance at the Norfolk shipyard.
