BAE Systems Technology Solutions & Services, Inc. Mount Laurel, N.J.
BAE Systems, Inc. is once again a recipient of the James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award for 2018—an annual award given by the Defense Security Service (DSS) in recognition of facilities that establish and maintain a security program that far exceeds the National Industrial Security Program requirements.

This year, five of our facilities were among the 39 recipients of the award from a field of 13,300 cleared defense contractor facilities. These five facilities (listed below) were recognized for “outstanding achievement in matters related exclusively to a facility’s security program.”

The award ceremony took place at the National Classification Management Society’s annual training seminar on June 6, 2018, in Grapevine, Texas, where employee representatives from our five facilities accepted the awards on behalf of the company.

Less than one percent of cleared contractors are selected annually for this prestigious award recognition program, which was created 1966. This year marks the seventh consecutive year that we have been a recipient of one or more Cogswell Awards. DSS selects awardees based on their efforts to establish and maintain a security program that exceeds the basic National Industrial Security Program requirements.

The award is named in honor of the late Air Force Col. James S. Cogswell, the first DOD chief of industrial security. Cogswell was responsible for developing the basic principles of the department’s Industrial Security Program, which include an emphasis on the partnership between industry and government to protect classified information.
