Our summer intern placements run from November to February with a break over the Christmas and new year period. Internships are available at various locations in South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, ACT, Queensland and Western Australia. The job advertisements for each internship will tell you where the roles will be based.

To be offered a placement, you should be in your penultimate year of study of a degree level qualification in a relevant field, and an Australian citizen.

You will undertake a structured program under the mentorship of a subject expert, in one of the following areas of our business:

Career Trackers First Nations university internships

We have also teamed up with not-for-profit organisation Career Trackers to provide internships for ten First Nations university students each year. This program supports students across all years of study and provides opportunities for emerging:

• mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineers;
• system, software and hardware engineers;
• project management, human resources, finance, supply chain and information management and technology personnel.

These internships are available as winter and summer placements and are based at various sites across Australia. Together with CareerTrackers, we'll support you every step of the way. You’ll get access to mentoring, world-class professional development training and be connected to the largest network of First Nations students and professionals in Australia.

To be eligible for the program, you need to be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, studying in high school or university and making continuous progress towards completion of your studies.

Career Trackers

Applications for our summer internship program open in May and close in early June. 

To apply, you must be an Australian citizen eligible for Australian Defence security clearance. Additionally, you should be in the penultimate (second-to-last) year of your degree in a relevant field.

• Step 1: Application review

We’ll carefully review your application and consider your academic achievements, relevant work experience (including other internships and volunteer work), extracurricular activities, and your motivations for joining our internship program. Please ensure that you upload your cover letter, cv and academic transcript to your application.

• Step 2: Video interview

If your application stands out, we’ll invite you to participate in a one-way video interview. This is your opportunity to showcase your passions, skills, and experiences. You’ll answer questions about your motivations, capabilities, and what makes you a great fit for the role. Let your personality shine and show us how you can contribute to the team!

• Step 3: Assessment Centre

If you impress us in the video interview you will move to an in person or virtual Assessment Centre Day. This is your chance to dive deeper into your experiences, demonstrate your skills, and discuss how you can add value to our organisation. Be ready to showcase your potential and ask any questions you may have about the internship.

• Step 4: Background checks 

Once you successfully complete the Assessement Centre, we will conduct a background check and confirm that you meet our security clearance requirements. If everything aligns, we will extend an offer, ensuring that both parties are the perfect fit.
