Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning monarch in British history and her passing is a great loss to our nation, the Commonwealth and the world.
Her Majesty touched the lives of millions across the globe. Whether as the British Monarch, as the Head of the Commonwealth or as the patron of more than 500 charities, military associations, professional bodies and public service organisations.
The Queen, in keeping with many of our employees, had a deeply personal connection to the military; as head of the UK’s armed forces but also as the wife, mother and grandmother of service personnel.
Her support for British industry and her connection with our Company, from launching the Royal Navy's first nuclear powered submarine and ships, such as the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carrier, to visiting our factories and military aircraft production lines, inspired generations of employees.
We have no doubt that her dedication and commitment will continue to be a source of inspiration to many, a lasting reminder of her unparalleled legacy.
We join the nation in offering our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family at this sad time.
Sir Roger Carr and Charles Woodburn
