Successful completion of training needs analysis for the UK Royal Navy's Type 26

BAE Systems Training and Simulation team has been working with the Royal Navy and Defence Equipment & Support to develop crew training for the equipment on board their Type 26 Frigates (T26); the first of which - HMS Glasgow that will enter service mid-2020s.

In March 2023, BAE Systems completed the initial analysis phase of the project that supports the new platforms being ready for Royal Navy.

 

Scott Jamieson, Managing Director of BAE Systems’ Maritime Services said:

“Our training capability is an important element of our Maritime business. We are proud to support our Royal Navy customer in the development of training for the Royal Navy personnel who’ll serve on the Type 26 warships.”

 

Captain Dan Vincent RN from Navy Command’s Future Training team said:

“I have been continuously impressed and delighted at the engagement and output from BAE Systems’ T26 Training Team - striving to provide the crew of the T26 with effective modern training within the cost, time and performance envelope. Completion of the T26 training deliverables to date, with all the other economic and pandemic constraints, is a great achievement.”
