Overview

Space Science

When you choose a BAE Systems electro-optical instrument, you’ll get some of the most accurate data available. Our hyperspectral and multispectral instruments span the electromagnetic spectrum and provide a wide range of data that usually exceeds our customers’ expectations. We do it by using innovative, fixed price contract vehicles for commercial space and U.S. government customers.

Our dedicated Detector Technology Center fabricates custom detectors and focal plane array systems that are central to the instruments we built for pioneering space science missions like Kepler/K2, the Hubble Space Telescope, and the Ozone Mapping and Profiler Suite (OMPS), now flying on the Suomi NPP, NOAA-20, and NOAA-21 weather satellites.

Tactical Missions

We offer high-performance tactical electro-optical cameras for unmanned aerial systems, fixed and rotary-wing aircraft, and U.S. Navy ships. Our product line of single and multi-band cameras includes both day and night imaging capability, with a variety of sensing technologies and image formats. Our long range, multi-sensor, modular electro-optical systems provide actionable intelligence for maritime operations.
