These conditions apply to users joining a Microsoft Teams (“Teams”) meeting as a guest on the BAE Systems UK/Global tenant. If you have been directed to these conditions by clicking on a link in a Teams meeting invite that you have received from a BAE Systems user then these conditions will apply to the Teams meeting. It is important to note that these conditions do not apply to Microsoft Teams meetings hosted by BAE Systems Inc in the US, BAE Systems Australia or BAE Systems Sweden. 

Conditions of Use:

Use in contravention of applicable law or regulation - Use of Teams meetings for any purposes that directly or indirectly contravene applicable law or regulation is prohibited.

Export Controlled data - Teams is not approved for the sharing, recording or storing of any content subject to any international export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to, the UK Export Control Order 2008, the U.S. Arms Export Control Act, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the Export Administration Regulations) referred to in these conditions as “Export Controlled data” except that the sharing of Export Controlled data in Teams meetings, either orally or visually, is permitted provided that:

  • All participants in and during the Teams meeting are identified and verified to ensure that only authorised participants join throughout the meeting;
  • All participants have been confirmed in advance as falling within the scope of all required export authorisation(s);
  • The sharing of Export Controlled data between these participants is limited to live/real-time interactions during the meeting itself (i.e. verbal or visual exchanges during the meeting); and
  • Call recordings, transcripts, chat-bots or other third party apps, if available, are disabled such that there is no residual record of the Teams meeting content in the Teams application or tenant.

UK Government Security Classified data - Teams is approved for discussion and sharing of information that has a UK security classification of OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE or below provided that:

  • BAE Systems users join the Team meeting from BAE Systems owned or managed devices that operate on BAE Systems networks that are approved for handling OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE information;
  • Non-BAE Systems users have undergone Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) screening (or appropriate screening levels in countries outside the UK) and join the Teams meeting from devices and networks that are approved by their organisation for handling OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE information; and
  • Non-BAE Systems users ensure use of Teams does not breach any security conditions placed upon them by their Contracting Authority.

Restrictions - Teams is not currently approved for discussion, sharing, storing or recording of information that is:

  • US Covered Defense Information (CDI);
  • NATO information with a security classification above NATO UNCLASSIFIED;
  • Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program Information (NNPI) or Polaris Sales Agreement (PSA) information.
  • Monitoring – In so far as the law allows, use of Teams may be logged and monitored to ensure compliance with legal requirements and BAE Systems policies. Further details can be found in the Business Protection section of our company Privacy Notice.
