As the eyes of the world turn to watch HMS Queen Elizabeth in her first-of-class F-35B jet flight trials, we reflect on our role in getting Britain’s biggest ever warship to sea.

Today we have announced the Group’s interim financial results for the first six months of 2018. It has been a busy first half of the year, during which we’ve had major competitive business wins and a commitment from the UK Government and industry to a future Combat Air programme. Together these successes underline our world-leading technology capability and skills, and provide good momentum into the second half and beyond.

Portsmouth Naval Base is a hive of activity, preparing HMS Queen Elizabeth for her voyage to the east coast of America to operate with the F-35 aircraft for the first time. But while Portsmouth is preparing for her departure, a new documentary looking at her history, from concept to commissioning, is due to be shown on April 15.
