The 8th British Malaysian Chambers of Commerce Rugby dinner, which aims to raise funds for local Malaysian charities, took place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Mark Burgess, BAE Systems’ Director, Malaysia and Indonesia and also a member of the Chambers of Commerce board said: “BAE Systems is proud to co-sponsor this event alongside other international and local businesses.  This was an ideal opportunity to further develop the key relationships that are so important when doing business in Malaysia”.

Retired rugby union players Martin Corry, Paul Wallace and Peter FitzSimons, were on hand to entertain the guests and a raffle and auction generated a lot of interest.  The whole event raised over 70,000 Malaysian ringits (approximately £14,000) for local charities, taking the grand total over the 8 year period to over RM1m (approximately £200,000).
