Sydney, July 30, 2013 – (ISC)²® (“ISC-squared”), the world’s largest information security professional body and administrators of the CISSP®, today announced the honourees for its seventh annual Asia-Pacific Information Security Leadership Achievements (ISLA) program. Professionals were nominated in three distinct categories: managerial professional for information security project(s), senior information security professional, and information security practitioner.
Doug Stuart, Technical Director of BAE Systems Detica Asia Pacific was recognised for the category of senior information security professional.
(ISC)² officials will recognise 28 Honourees, three Showcased Honourees, and one Community Service Star on stage at the Asia-Pacific ISLA Gala Dinner on August 8, 2013 at the Makati Shangri-la, Manila. The (ISC)2 Security Leadership Series event, SecureAsia@Manila Conference, will be held August 7-8 at the same venue.
Doug Stuart, Technical Director, BAE Systems Detica, Asia Pacific said:
“It is a privilege to be awarded by one of the premier professional bodies of the information security industry. Being recognised as an honouree is special and rewarding. Detica is committed to further investing in the Asia Pacific region and growing the business in Malaysia. This award is a recognition of the work the company has been doing so far.”
Doug’s career in the information security sector spans more than 20 years. He has extensive experience leading and conducting a wide range and large scale cyber security consulting engagements across a diverse range of Australian and international clients. He has worked in the defence & national security, healthcare and high-tech industries. Doug is one of the founders and former owner of Stratsec, which was acquired by BAE Systems Detica in 2011.
Part of (ISC)2’s global Awards Program, the ISLA aims to recognise the on-going commitment by information security leaders in Asia-Pacific who have significantly enhanced the workforce by demonstrating a leadership role in an information security workforce improvement initiative, program or project.
W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, executive director of (ISC)² said:
“We congratulate all honourees and supporting committees, as their passion to protect goes beyond their daily jobs. They invest their time and energy to mentor and educate those around them. According to our latest Global Information Security Workforce Study, information security is both an intellectually and financially rewarding profession. At the same time, we are experiencing a global talent shortage. We hope that by recognising pioneers and visionaries through the ISLA program, we are helping to inspire a strong future generation of information security professionals,”
