Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is participating in the Careers Fair organized by the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, 7-9 May.
A number of the Company's Human Resources employees handled questions and queries from students, outlined different aspects of the activities and work of BAE Systems Saudi Arabia and its current plans for Saudisation, training and the career opportunities available.
The Head of Recruitment in BAE Systems Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Al-Homaidhi, said: "Our participation aims to introduce King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals students - as well as attendees from the public - to the activities and the role BAE Systems plays in Saudi Arabia. We can offer career opportunities for graduates and developmental programmes, as per one of the most important objectives set by the company. That is equipping Saudis with the practical experiences that will help develop their professional and personal skills in accordance to the latest global training systems.”
He added: "The Company participates in career days held by many universities across the Kingdom, in accordance with our strategy to attract and recruit both male and female Saudi professionals. This has helped earn the Company the Prince Naif Saudisation Award and Best Business Environment for Job Localisation Award in 2011.”
BAE Systems Saudi Arabia offers many programmes aimed at strengthening the capabilities, knowledge and skills of Saudis, training Saudi employees to enable them to work in jobs that require efficiency and special qualifications.
Many Saudis currently hold senior managerial positions and contribute to the business support and the transfer of expertise in the area of developing the industrial infrastructure.
The company also offers a special programme to develop graduates from various company locations worldwide. More than 500 graduates enroll in the programme annually across Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, the USA, Australia and India. It aims to develop the graduates’ professional and personal skills and consists of two phases that span over two years. The first year includes on-the-job training to strengthen professional skills, and the second year includes external training for personal development and to enhance professional skills. Employees may also get the opportunity to travel and work in one of the Company’s other business units around the world, in order to get more experience in accordance with his/her own development plan.
