BAE Systems is the UK's largest defence and security company with approximately 34,100 employees based at around 50 sites in the UK.

We deliver a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and support services. We are a leading supplier to the UK Ministry of Defence and have market leadership positions in the air and maritime domains.

In 2018, BAE Systems’ UK operations and activities:
 
  • Contributed £9.3 billion to the UK’s Gross Domestic Product. For every £100 created by BAE Systems, £330 was contributed across the wider economy
  • Supported 125,00 full time equivalent jobs in the UK including 34,100 employees of whom 66% (22,5000) are in engineering and engineering-related roles
  • Generated £7.3 billion of revenue
  • Invested £3.7 billion annually with 6,000 UK suppliers
  • Contributed £2.4 billion worth of
  • Generated £3 billion in exports, equivalent to nearly 1% of all UK exports
  • Invested £1.2 billion in R&D including on behalf of customers and partners
  • Made £224 million in capital investments including a new training academy for submarine design and build
  • Supported employees in delivering £83,000 valued added productivity per employee – 27% more than the national average
  • Trained nearly 2,000 apprentices and 500 graduates
  • Invested £90m in skills, training and education outreach
