After completing my apprenticeship, I joined BAE Systems from a hands-on aircraft fitter background and gradually progressed into supervisory and production management roles on the F-35 programme. Supportive managers encouraged me to grow beyond my comfort zone, explore new opportunities and take on pioneering responsibilities while contributing to work that protects real-world capability.
Relocating to Saudi Arabia became a defining milestone in my career. As Head of Supply Chain, I lead the function that underpins Hawk T-165 Flying Training and the Basic Fighter Flying School for the Royal Saudi Air Force. For the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, I ensure material availability and supply resilience for specialised technical and operational courses. Every day, I help protect aircraft readiness while introducing new ways of working to improve efficiency and performance.
What makes this role truly exciting is the pioneering nature of the work. I constantly develop processes, explore innovative approaches and strengthen team capability in a collaborative, supportive environment. Working directly with RSAF and RSNF teams allows me to learn continuously, share ideas and contribute at a global level while seeing the tangible impact of our efforts.
The move has also been incredibly positive for my family. Saudi Arabia has provided a welcoming and culturally rich environment for my two young sons, who attend an international school and have formed friendships with children from many backgrounds. As a family, we’ve grown in confidence, awareness and appreciation for new perspectives while feeling supported.
What I value most is the connection between people, teamwork and outcomes. Whether in the UK or Saudi Arabia, I enjoy building capable teams, nurturing the strengths of every colleague and creating an environment where people feel trusted and motivated. Seeing how our collective efforts protect operational delivery while enabling innovation continues to be both rewarding and purposeful.
