The greenhouse gas emissions data is in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard (revised version) and emission factors for fuels and electricity from the UK government’s department for Environment Foor and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), published at  www.ukconversionfactorscarbonsmart.co.uk.   We have been producing a Global Carbon Footprint since 2008” (i.e. methodology not necessarily the same).

The calculation of these emissions aids understanding of the company’s energy consumption and helps inform decision-making regarding where improvements can be made.

In 2014 global emissions decreased by 4% compared to 2013. Figure 1 shows emissions by country. Both the UK and US showed a decrease, but KSA and Australia have shown increases as the our reporting in these regions matures and the scope increases.

FOOTNOTE: Our published 2013 greenhouse gas emissions have been re-calculated as the conversion factors used in the calculations have changed.
