This is 31% increase on the 2012 figure of 1.114 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent. The 2013 Global Carbon Footprint has been compiled in conjunction with the Coefficient Company and third party private assurance of the methodology and GHG emissions was obtained.

The GHG emissions report has been calculated using the GHG Protocol and UK Government’s GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting 2013. This methodology has been used since 2008.

The calculation of these emissions aids understanding of the company’s energy consumption and helps inform decision-making regarding where improvements can be made.

Significant increases have occurred in the US due to the addition of some large sites not included in the 2012 dataset, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia due to more mature reporting of electricity usage. The UK has seen a 6% decrease in emissions between 2012 and 2013.
