Developing innovative solutions
‘After graduating with a BSc in Management Science from The University of Manchester, I worked as an Accountant in practice and then industry. I gained a solid background in finance and then moved into Commercial and during the past twelve years l have worked for Thales, Babcock (formerly Weir Strachan & Henshaw), L-3 Communications and finally moved to BAE Systems in 2009.
I have worked on the Type 45 Programme for 3 years now as Commercial Manager. The main part of my role involves the Type 45 build contract and the agreed closure of the contractual obligations. The role requires a high level of interaction with internal and external customers. In addition, I also deal with the commercial aspects of a series of ILS contracts.
I enjoy the constant challenge of developing innovative solutions to issues which represent a win/win position for the company and the customer.
Just knowing I played a small part in delivering the most advanced warships the nation has ever to the Royal Navy fills me with pride.
My life away from work is very family orientated and I also enjoy live music and sport. I have also recently joined a local male voice choir and gym.’
