This virtual event will address real world questions about what happens to youth online and how you can help someone who has suffered a cyberattack. It will also help guide how to deal with the emotional stress of a range of attacks that could occur online.

Participants will include young people ages 12-16, parents and caregivers, teachers and senior school leaders, emergency service staff, academics and counsellors and psychologists.

This event is a live exercise to give participants of all ages the chance to connect with the emotional reality of child protection – the gut, emotional reaction, the effect on/reaction of young people, but in a safe environment. One key to this is giving young people a voice rather than a lecture.

In separate sessions, participants will also explore and prepare their responses to the dangers of exploitation, radicalisation and cybercrime. By the end of the day, participants will have a greater perspective about how these issues impact young people and parents and caregivers.
