Title: From Detections to Investigations - How the State of Massachusetts Detects and Investigates Medicaid Fraud
Date: Tuesday, June 23
Time: 3:35pm - 4:50pm
Speakers: Bill Palmisano, Sr. Business Solutions Consultant, BAE Systems and TBC, State of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health & Human Services (MEOHHS) Medicaid Program
We will talk alongside an SME from the State of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health & Human Services (MEOHHS) Medicaid Program. The session will cover the common detection and investigative challenges insurers face in today’s market when combatting Fraud, Waste & Abuse (FWA), and how BAE Systems and MEOHHS have successfully partnered together to address these challenges. This topic will not only draw interest due to the fact that this is a “local” session (MEOHHS and ACFE ATC are in the State of MA), but there are tremendous value to other insurers and government agencies. This session will also highlight methods that have worked, and others that have not. Hopefully this session will give attendees tips to strengthen their FWA Programs.
- Give greater understanding and clarity around the challenges insurers face today
- Identify detection and investigative areas within FWA Programs that could add value if they were streamlined
- Examine methods to address these challenges, and the risks associated with them
- Provide insight into the correlation between a strong partnership between analytics vendors and insurer clients, and successful FWA Programs
