Sydney – Australia, BAE Systems Detica has appointed Erin McKenna as Cyber Operations Director, Asia Pacific.

Erin will manage day-to-day business and cyber operations and will work closely with clients on projects involving security architecture, security incidents, governance, infrastructure security, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing and security strategy and policy.

Erin’s appointment comes as a result of Craig Searle’s move into the new role of Head of Cyber Security for BAE Systems Detica in Asia Pacific. Erin will report to Craig and also becomes a member of BAE Systems Detica’s Australian leadership team.

Erin previously worked as a Principal Consultant in BAE Systems Detica’s Governance, Risk and Compliance group. There she was responsible for managing a project portfolio across diverse clients and industries. She moved to Australia from the United States in 2011.

Richard Watson, Managing Director, Asia Pacific and Middle East, BAE Systems Detica:

“Erin has proven to be a valuable team player within BAE Systems Detica. She is eager to drive change to improve business performance and just as importantly, to streamline the operational processes for all consultants and regional managers. She will be an excellent asset within the leadership team.”

Erin is passionate about attracting more women to the world of cyber security and information security. She recently launched the Asia Pacific Diversity and Inclusion initiative, which aims to help the company draw talent from broader, more diverse talent pools and follows on from BAE Systems Detica’s global initiative.

Prior to BAE Systems Detica, Erin held the role of Supervisor, Information Systems Security at Computer Sciences Raytheon.
